Shipping companies consider the pole handle to be an oversized item because of its length and therefore they calculate the shipping cost as if the pole weighed 35 lbs.

(The harvester head can be attached to a locally bought pool pole and instructions are included explaining which end of the pole to use and how to drill the appropriate holes.)
